If you are a young leader between 25 – 34 years of age live /work or care about DeKalb County and if you are experienced in or committed to service to the community, frequently serve as a community/civic volunteer and are an emerging/established leader in your profession.ural and ethnic groups of the community. Adults of all ages are encouraged to apply.

You may be nominated by one of our graduates or you may apply once applications open. Applications may be submitted via email, mail or delivered to the Leadership DeKalb Office.

During the program, class members learn about a wide range of issues facing DeKalb County, build leadership skills and begin networking across the DeKalb community. Between Orientation and the Closing Retreat, there are full-day sessions on topics including DeKalb’s government; economic development; health; educational and justice systems; diversity and inclusion; quality of life and more. Class sessions are held once each month from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m. dialogue, promote discussion and develop friendships and professional connections.
A $25 non-refundable application fee plus a tuition of $1,500 upon acceptance into program. A limited number of partial financial hardship scholarships (up to $500) are available. The Selection Committee, comprised of Leadership DeKalb graduates, will select the class to represent all aspects of the DeKalb community, including business, non-profits, education, government; religion, the arts and community volunteers from all of DeKalb County’s ethnic, cultural and racial groups.
