"Youth Leadership DeKalb has been a great program that I have really enjoyed. Not only has it allowed me to meet new people from different areas, I have learned life-long lessons, and great leadership techniques. From the overnight retreat to the monthly meetings, I would strongly recommend this program to all people interested in reaching out to people of the community and in return becoming a better person."
Charlotte Collins, Dunwoody High School, YLD Class of 2008
“Youth Leadership DeKalb was one of the highlights of 10th grade for me. I was able to meet students from other high schools who were diverse in background, yet academically like-minded and similarly motivated to learn and develop skills beyond the normal curriculum. They also happened to be very cool people who became life-long friends. Above all, YLD was fun, especially the Rock Eagle retreat. I think YLD is an incredible experience and a unique opportunity for developing character and learning about your role in the community. I highly recommend this program.”
Alejandro V. “Andy” Pascual, YLD class of ‘96

“The challenges we faced this year in YLD gave us the experiences needed to become better leaders of today and the future.”
Aaron Wiley, DeKalb School of the Arts, YLD Class of 2008
