Leadership DeKalb is now seeking your nomination for the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award and the Sue Ellen Owens Award to be presented at Leadership DeKalb's Carpe Mañana Reunion and YLD fundraiser on April 30 at the Emory Conference Center. (Nominations for the 2009 awards will be received later this year and those awards will be presented at our Annual Meeting in August.)

You may nominate more than one person for each award. You must provide the complete name, title and mailing address of your nominee(s), as well as a brief description of why they are deserving of this award. Please limit your submissions to 500 words or less. See the attached form for nominations.

Judge Gregory A. Adams

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes exemplary service and commitment to the community. The Board of Directors of Leadership DeKalb selects the recipient, who is chosen based on a unique contribution to the community, which creates a lasting legacy for the community. Any alumni member may suggest a candidate for the award. Each of the recipients above reflects in the area indicated their love of community and dedication to making DeKalb County a healthy place for all.

Sue Ellen Owens Award

This award was created to honor the founding Executive Director of Leadership DeKalb who served from 1989 to 2001. It is awarded to the person in the community who recognizes an unmet or underserved need in the community; whose initiative serves as a catalyst for change to address that need; and that change should result in something permanent and positive for the community, a lasting legacy of initiative and vision.
